The Patient Storm

Scene 1 - Interior Day
Storm is seated on a white furry swivel chair wearing all hues of grey, in a white almost seamless room. Grey trousers, grayish blouse, grey pumps. The room is spotless clean the lighting exquisite. Lightening, dressed in a combination of silver, stands slightly in the background. Most of the movement will be Storm making slight swivel movements in her chair and Lightening’s animated body gestures in and around, back and forth around Storm.

Storm
I have to get ready. We all have to get ready. If we don’t appear – something is wrong. The Cosmos gone crazy – the people will say. Now…You….where is everyone else?

Lightening
Jester’s to herself as if saying Me, Me!!! And begins to walk over to Storm. Her movements are jestural, hip hop-ish, elegant. She’s an elegant trickster trip/hiphop girl woman.

Lightening
Stormy, Storm…the one who whirls and twirls. My, my Stormy Storm, you look so patient, but I know you, even when you are blue, the whirl the twirl brings life to you.

Storm
My dear, where is everyone else? Why aren’t they with you?

Lightening
They travel slow. Down the road. To the river. We got to go Baby Girl…and whirl that twirl.

Storm
We need to wait until they arrive.

Lightening
Follow the fellow. The prince. The tide. Become wet, become untied.

Storm
Storm gives her head a slight shake, as Lightening always talks in circles to some extend and Storm didn’t fully understand the sentence and but also feels there is no need to understand. But every now and again she is perplexed by Lightening. We are all in this together. I have an obligation to appear and to present my …my…fundamental nature. Everybody must. I hope they are on their way.

Lightening
Calm. Still. Quiet and such. Ohhhhhhhh Stormy Storm…when they arrive and when they do….. turbulence baby for me and you.

Storm
Turbulence! Is that what you call us? No darling, not turbulence…we are the glamorous clamor overhead. The people await us – now where is Rattling Wings and all the Lightening People? Are you prepared my dear?

Lightening
Prepared. Bursting. Packed and full. You lead the way Stormy Storm and I will twirl. Twirl, twirl, twirl. ( Lightening, spins around)..cuz Eye’s a grrrrrrrrl.….( very cheeky with attitude head movements) ALSO KNOWN AS the exquisite Lady L….keeper of bolt - the rolling zig zig zag.

Storm
Goodness! We will have to leave and they will have to meet us there. I will show you the way. You will have to watch for the others, since they are running late. Perhaps they are caught up in the valley.

Lightening
The valley of lovvvvvvvvvve, so great and blue. The valley of love baby girl for me and you. Or he and me or him and you, her and he, or she and she, or him and he or they and they…which ever way……..the love in the valley is truly true…but also sometimes very blue.

Storm
They are heading in from the West (she points to the west) and perhaps they are held up… not only in the valley, but by the river’s edge. Hm. Either way, we will have to depart soon and they can join us.

Lightening
Join us… (She jester’s her arms to welcome everyone) Everyone please joins us. Joins us in the moment of hope, this moment of promise, this moment of love, this moment of connectivity. (she pauses)…I am ready!

Storm
THEY will be here, but about everyone else? Hmmmm… the others have been opposed to us for so long.

Lightening
So opposed…. in their stance. Scared little scareDEE cats. Their knowledge did not fare well to wisdom just. Imagine that. Their opposite stance makes them tall …even for little little scared fur balls. BUT..ah!!! ..not tall enough to see… certainty. Perhaps they are blind….eyes gone missing, eyes shut, shut!

Storm
I am going to start getting ready. Those who KNOW..will join us and the others are going to have to wait until they are ready.

Lightening
Join us, those who KNOW…start getting ready, I am going to go!!!Until the others are ready, they will have to wait. Lead the way…Stormy Storm - lets twirl the swirl and swirl the twirl, zig the zag and zag the zig – as we dance across the sky – without defeat.
